This site
follows the journey of the project from design to completion. It
also documents the building of the RSC’s temporary Courtyard
Theatre which serves as the Company’s main theatre in
Stratford-upon-Avon while the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and
surrounding site are transformed
This is one of the world's most iconic theatrical sites. It
represents a mix of Shakespearean performance, history and
biography that's unique. Our challenge is to work with the design
team to marry the best elements of the existing buildings with the
brief we've outlined for the auditorium, backstage and audience
facilities. We are well on the way to realising our ambition to
create the best modern playhouse for Shakespeare in Stratford
